The first step is to let the mud dry. This might seem counterintuitive, but the mud will be much easier to remove dry and you want to avoid rubbing the mud deeper into your carpets fibers. If the mud is VERY wet, you can blot gently with a towel to prevent the moisture from soaking unto the carpet pad. No rubbing! It is much better to simply allow the mud to dry. Now that the mud is dry, slowly vacuum the affected areas to remove the dirt. Vacuuming slowly will remove more dirt then making quick passes. Vacuum for two or three times longer then you normally would. Make at least 16 passes over the muddy area, being sure to vacuum in all directions. The more vacuuming the better. After you have removed as much dirt as possible with the vacuum, it is time to move on to a detergent solution. Mix one-teaspoon mild dish washing detergent to one cup lukewarm water. Double as needed.

Carpets are expensive! Regularly cleaning your carpet helps to keep it in good condition, protecting the money you spent on it. This is especially important if your carpet is brand new or if you’re planning to sell your home soon. Its much easier to spend some money on a carpet cleaning service rather than replacing the entire area.

Partner with a local carpet cleaning service and offer a special discount or promotion for their services to your customers. In return, they could promote your truck maintenance services to their clients. This cross-promotion can be beneficial for both parties and create a win-win situation.
